Breaking News in the Alexander Family!

After months of waiting, planning and anticipation, the time has finally come. Today is the day the that we are finally ready to set out on our trip across the country.

Now I know that many of you were anticipating seeing a new baby. Well unfortunately…. not yet. But if you were here to see the baby, we are asking that you make a donation to the Great Cycling Challenge to help us raise money for childhood cancer. So please, no baby shower gifts or anything else, just make a donation to Rainey and Breeze’s challenge. Anyone’s kid could end up with cancer from our new baby to your kids, so this is important to us and very important to the girls since they like to feel like they are helping a good cause whenever they can.

Plus, currently on the Great Cycle Challenge, we are in DEAD LAST as of this point with $0 raised. Please sponsor our team!

So now that we have given everyone our sales pitch after falling for my (Scott’s) minor manipulation, here is the real news. Today we purchased our very last items for our bike trip. We have been planning for months and with our trip beginning in 10 days, we will no longer have time to purchase anything additional online.

Our trip will begin in 10 days (pending the baby’s arrival) at the Soo Locks on the Canadian border and we will arrive in Key West Florida after about 40 to 50 days and cover a distance of over 2,000 miles- each… completely self supported. This means we are carrying all of our clothes, food, tents, sleeping bags, etc.

It is hard to believe that in only 10 years our kids could go from just a baby to a girl ready to bike across the country. It is hard to imagine that in only 10 more years our yet unborn baby may be hiking around Europe. Our adventures never end, as you all know!

If you would like to follow us on this trip or any others, please make sure you bookmark this website and see what we are up to. Angela will be putting in more time to cover our trips from the past and the current and the future after the baby arrives!
